Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Solix Green Energy website at solixgreenenergy.online and the solar and renewable energy solutions we supply and install across Melbourne VIC and greater Victoria.
1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using our website, requesting a quote, or engaging Solix Green Energy Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) to supply goods or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or engage our services. These terms apply together with any written quote, proposal or installation contract we provide to you. Where a signed installation contract conflicts with these terms, the installation contract prevails for that job.
2. Who we are
Solix Green Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 77 7 02 56 7 824) is a solar and renewable energy solutions company based in Melbourne VIC. We supply, install and maintain solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, battery storage and associated energy efficiency products for residential and commercial customers.
3. Consumer guarantees under Australian law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with any goods or services we supply, you are entitled to cancel your contract and obtain a refund, or a replacement of the goods, and to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
4. Quotes and pricing
- Quotes provided by us are free of charge and are valid for the period stated on the quote, usually 30 days from the date of issue.
- All prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are based on the information you provide and, where applicable, a site assessment. Final pricing may change if a site inspection reveals matters such as a switchboard upgrade requirement, roof repairs, difficult access, or the presence of hazardous materials. We will advise you of any variation and obtain your approval before proceeding.
- Any estimated savings, payback periods or system output figures included in a quote are indicative only and are set out in clause 8 below.
5. Orders and formation of contract
A binding contract for the supply and installation of a solar system is formed when you accept our written quote (including acceptance by electronic means) and pay any deposit specified in that quote. Each contract incorporates these Terms of Service and the particulars of the accepted quote.
6. Cooling-off and cancellation
If your agreement is an unsolicited consumer agreement under the Australian Consumer Law, a cooling-off period of 10 business days applies from the day after you sign the agreement. You may cancel during that period by written notice to ceo@solixgreenenergy.online. Outside any statutory cooling-off period, if you cancel after we have incurred costs (such as ordered equipment, permit fees or scheduled labour), we may recover those reasonable, properly incurred costs, subject always to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Payment terms
- Payment stages (deposit, progress payments and final payment) will be set out in your quote or installation contract.
- Invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice.
- Where a deposit is taken, it is protected in accordance with our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law and any applicable Victorian legislation.
- Overdue amounts may, to the extent permitted by law, attract interest and reasonable recovery costs.
8. Installation, site access and system performance
Site access and condition
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to your property on agreed installation dates, including roof access and access to your switchboard. You confirm that you own the property or have the owner’s authority for the works. If asbestos or other hazardous materials are discovered, work will be paused until the material is safely removed by an appropriately licensed removalist, at the property owner’s cost.
Performance estimates
Solar system output and energy savings depend on factors outside our control, including weather, roof orientation and pitch, shading, soiling, equipment degradation and your household or business usage patterns. Any performance or savings figures we provide are estimates based on industry modelling and historical data and are not a guarantee of actual output or savings. We do not provide financial, taxation or investment advice.
9. Grid connection, metering and feed-in tariffs
Where included in your service, we will lodge grid connection and metering applications with the relevant electricity distributor on your behalf. Approval timelines are set by the distributor and are outside our control. You remain responsible for your electricity retail agreement, including any feed-in tariff arrangements with your retailer. Changes to feed-in tariff rates, network charges or government incentives after installation are outside our control and do not entitle you to any refund or compensation from us.
10. Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
Where your quoted price is discounted on the basis of an assignment of Small-scale Technology Certificates under the Commonwealth Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, you assign to us the right to create and trade the STCs eligible for your installation. If your system or property is later found to be ineligible for STCs, we may adjust the price accordingly and will discuss the position with you before proceeding.
11. Warranties
- Solar panels, inverters, batteries and other components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. We will provide you with the manufacturer warranty documentation applicable to your system and will reasonably assist you in making warranty claims.
- Our workmanship warranty is set out in your installation contract.
- Warranty claims may be lodged by emailing ceo@solixgreenenergy.online with your invoice number and a description of the issue.
- Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised alteration, extreme weather events, pests, building movement or failure to follow our maintenance guidance, except where the Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the supply of goods or services is limited, at our option, to the resupply of the goods or services or the payment of the cost of resupply. However, nothing in these terms limits our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of feed-in tariff revenue, except to the extent such exclusion is not permitted by law.

18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of last revision shown above. The terms that apply to a particular supply of goods or services are the terms in force when your contract is formed, together with the terms of your accepted quote or installation contract.
